Elzetta ZFH1500 Tactical Flashlight Holder

I never could find anything to dislike about this light holder. I don't give five star reviews for no reason, so you can bet it scores that well based on design, quality, durability, etc.

Last season, I had an experience that was unique for me: I went hunting based on game camera photos - and I brought home one of the bucks that was in the photos! The best part is that this was the only buck of the bunch that we had decided was a "shooter." I love it when that happens! Game cameras can help your hunting, for sure.

This question is a no-brainer for me, mainly because I've known the answer since I was a kid and Dad educated me on the Colt 1917 Army revolver. But I found out through some online research that there's a lot of very bad - and extremely dangerous - misinformation out there, so it's high time someone set the record straight.

Wow.

It's now been almost four years since my father passed away, and it is still mighty rough sometimes. He and I hunted together every year since I was about 9 years old, so as you can imagine, 2008 was a rough year for me. Losing him, then facing my first hunting season without him, led to some of my darkest days. Thankfully, they were interspersed with some good and very bright moments, as the kindness of friends gave me ample opportunities to share their company and to hunt and take deer.

This is an interesting book. The info is down-to-earth and nicely organized, and includes information on hunting both public and private lands. The author has been around, and he's good an distilling his experience into lessons that we can all benefit from.

I enjoyed putting this little GPS unit through its paces for this review. It's got some handy features, but it also has some aggravating quirks. Check out the review and see what you think - and if you've tried this yourself, feel free to add your own review of it. Enjoy!

It's been a couple of years since I first reviewed these lights, and they're still going strong. The Night Strike Handheld does do some strange stuff sometimes (turns itself on and off, refuses to switch off, etc), but that's when the alkaline batteries get low - and alkalines aren't recommended anyhow. All in all, they've done me a lot of good, especially the Night Strike, which spends most of the time being clipped to my pants pocket. Anyhow, check out these reviews and see what you think.

If you have an AK or WASR-10, SAR, etc, you need to know this stuff. It's not hard to do, and these easy steps are well illustrated and well described. This way, you'll be able to open the gun to inspect it, clean it, replace parts, and whatnot. And you'll need to know this if you decide to notch the safety selector lever to hold your bolt open!

When I got my AK, the first thing I found to dislike about it was that I couldn't lock the bolt open. I just like to be able to lock the bolt open when handling a semi-auto, and it's especially nice at the range. And all it takes is the flick of a finger to release the bolt and turn off the safety in one motion. This is an easy gunsmithing project that most folks can do at home.
